Now that it is summer and I have a little bit more
time I started going through some of my Pinterest boards and Today I attempted three
big cleaning tips and tricks. Two of them worked well and the other was a bust
but I am pleased with the results! The three tips I set out to try had to do
with cleaning in the bathroom, and cleaning a glass top stove.
Martha Stewart’s tub scrub
You cannot go wrong with Martha Stewart, and the tub
scrub paste really does work! The pin calls for a bucket of water, baking soda,
and scrub brush. Combine all contents until it is a paste like goop then scrub
onto shower/tub and finish with a rinse with warm water. This did wonders to my
bathroom shower as it did remove all soap scum and also hard water stains. My
shower floor has never been whiter!
Shower Head Vinegar Bag
I never knew you could clean with vinegar but now it
is going to become a staple within my cleaning supplies! Not only is it cheap but you can also cook
with it! This pin I was pretty skeptical
about. I thought that it would not work and that I would be left with a smell
of vinegar whenever I got into the shower. Believe it or not, this actually
works too! This pin calls for a Ziploc bag, a rubber band, and vinegar. The
directions were to fill a bag with vinegar and place over the shower head and
leave it there over night. Last night
after my shower, I braved this one and was pleasantly surprised. I woke up,
took a small rag over the head of the shower and turned it on. No soap scum or
smell of vinegar! This is one I will be incorporating into my cleaning routine!
Cleaning a Glass Top Stove
This pin was a bust. The directions to this pin were
to boil water, and spread baking soda all over the glass top then rinse/wipe
off with the boiling water rag. I did
everything the pin suggested and all that happened was that my glass top stove
was even messier than when my husband cooks.
It took me maybe more than 30 minutes to clean up. If anyone knows a
better pin please forward it to me! I will be using my regular cleaning tools
on the stove top.
Overall I am excited I tried three new ideas and
that some of them worked!!
